Sooners Head to College Station for A&M 7’s

The OU Men take on the first 7’s tournament of the Fall this weekend in the Texas A&M 7’s.  OU will field sides for the 2 competitive divisions and one development side.  It is a great chance to get a lot of guys on the field and let new guys get experience. In the development division teams can free sub and really work to get all new guys a run.

Also in attendance will be Baylor, Sam Houston and Texas. It should be a good day to test the 7’s side that had been working hard since their trip to the Collegiate Rugby Championships in June.

”  We have added some new wrinkles and I think everyone has just a better understanding of the game then we did last spring. It is good to see everyone working hard and getting focused for a big event.  We don’t know a whole lot about all the teams there but we played Texas in the CRC and we know that A&M is always well coached and will be ready to play”, said Ryan Bachman- Junior center.

Later this month the Sooners will head to Manhattan, KS for the Heart of America 7’s tournament demonstrating a shift in college rugby scheduling with more 7’s emphasis.
